March 2022 Delegate Assembly: End Mayoral Control, Overhaul Tier 6 – Caucus Delegates in UFC Coalition to Propose Resolution Motions To Address These Issues

The chapter leaders and delegates of the various partner caucuses and independents within the United For Change coalition will seek to propose two resolution motions at the Wednesday, March 23rd, UFT Delegate Assembly. The first proposed resolution, calls on to UFT begin an immediate and aggressive lobbying campaign to the City and the State to improve Tier 6 retirement benefit and pension to the level of Tier 4. The second urges the UFT to join forces with the families and school communities of New York City in fighting to finally end unilateral mayoral control of our public schools and to work together to seek meaningful and democratic legislative changes on a state and local level that will reimagine the school governance of our schools.
